Ecuadorian avocado oil won silver and bronze medals at the annual competition organized in France by the Agency for the Valuation of Agricultural Products. In the nuts and seeds category, Uyama Farms earned second and third place for two types of MIRA brand oil, produced in the canton of the same name.
The jury president, Hervé Jouanneau, praised the characteristics of this natural product, noting that it is rich in vitamins, free of preservatives and colorants, and retains the flavor and aroma of the fruit.
Mauricio Dávalos and María Clara Dávalos, President and Commercial Manager of Uyama Farms, respectively, received the awards during a ceremony held in the French capital, which was also attended by the Ecuadorian Ambassador to France, Carlos Játiva.
The award received in France opens an opportunity to position the product within high-quality gourmet market niches worldwide, said the organizers.
